It is fairly common in the financial press to refer to that “the easy” money has been made, implying that it is time to take home profits at various points of a bull market, or for that matter the opposite in a bear-market, saying “this is the bottom”.

What is clear: financial pundits/journalists know as little or much about the markets as all of us do.

Wise strategy in these situations is that through various forms of options strategies (see our education page here) – the investor can protect profits by utilizing various forms of portfolio enhancement and at the same time keep the upside assuming a lot more of “easy money” is to be made from markets grinding higher.
